Short Film Making Workshop by Aaron Poon

Videos can be simply divided into two categories: one is "you feel something after watching it", and the other is "you don't feel anything after watching it".

Generally speaking, a good film should make people feel something after watching it. It can be described by a mood or emotion, which may be excitement, sadness, humor, fascination, or a feeling of enlightenment... Just like after watching Avengers 4, we all feel full of passion...

So, "How do you make a video that makes people feel something?"

In this workshop, we will share with you the techniques that can increase the "storytelling power" of our videos. We will make it easier for everyone to reproduce or express our inner feelings or emotions through the medium of video production. Whether you want to shoot a VLOG to record your life experience in the future, or see the charming scenery while traveling and use videos to record it for yourself and share it with others, and all kinds of videos will be more handy.

This workshop will allow professional video producers to share their most personal skills and experiences to give everyone a new experience and understanding in video production.

Workshop content includes:

・Learn the basics of video shooting settings, such as frame rate (fps), shutter speed and aspect ratio when shooting videos, to create the best picture for your videos

・Learn different shooting angles, picture composition methods, and special shooting techniques to bring out the story and shoot moving videos.

・Learn to set your own video ideas and themes, and use simple equipment to shoot more distinctive and unique videos.

・Understand the preparations that should be done before each shoot to avoid problems that cannot be remedied in post-production.
・Learn the basic thinking method of post-editing to make the pictures and sounds the most "feeling" video.
